Saddle Calf is a French natural full-grain leather, a standard for luxury saddlers.
We love its natural feel, softness, and its round grain, as well as the way it takes color beautifully and develops a lovely patina with age, which is why we also choose it for leather goods.
This specific tanning process creates a smooth and slight grain and ensures that each skin is unique and every product is a one-of-a-kind.
Our Saddle Calf comes from an Alsatian tannery which has been managed by the same family since the 16th century.
Guardians of a unique artisanal tradition, each generation has made modern improvements while protecting and passing along its knowledge. Today, the tannery is one of two global sources for this standard-setting natural calf.
The supple structure of Saddle Calf with its roundness and sensuality is particularly adapted to leather goods. A beautiful shine develops with age.
Its finish is sensitive to scratches. (See Care Instructions.)
In order to preserve the beauty of your leather products, we recommend that you note the following advice :
◌ Keep your product away from abrasive surfaces that might scratch or mar the finish.
◌ Protect your product from humidity and direct heat like radiators or closed cars in summer.
◌ Avoid contact with the following products: liquids, hand creams, hand sanitizers, makeup and perfume.
◌ Should the bag come into contact with water, allow it to dry naturally, away from sources of direct heat. Once dry, if the leather has not returned to its natural suppleness, you can apply a neutral pH makeup-remover milk all over the piece with a soft cloth. Test an out-of-sight area first and observe the leather’s reaction. If successful, this cleaning will speed up the formation of the leather’s natural patina.
